प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी एका व्हिडिओ मेसेजद्वारे देशाच्या नागरिकांना बुद्ध पौर्णिमेच्या हार्दिक शुभेच्छा दिल्या आहेत. सोबतच वैशाख महिन्यातील बैसाखी या सणाच्याही शुभेच्छा दिल्या.

ते म्हणाले, देशातील समस्त नागरिकांना तसेच संपूर्ण विश्वात पसरलेल्या भगवान बुद्धांच्या अनुयायांना बुद्ध पौर्णिमेच्या हार्दिक शुभेच्छा. तसेच सध्या वैशाख महिना सुरू आहे. या महिन्यात पारंपारिक बैसाखी हा सण असतो. या पवित्र दिनी आपल्या सोबत भेटण्याचा आणि आशीर्वाद घेण्याची मला संधी मिळाली हे मी माझे भाग्य मानतो, असे मोदी यांनी सांगितले.
